In a bid to provide an affordable flight to Malaysia, AirAsia X (AAX) has announced travel on a new route to Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, beginning May 30, 2025.

As the medium-haul affiliate of AirAsia and the world's cheapest airline, AAX will take four flights weekly from Karachi to Kuala Lumpur and vice versa.

Once flights to the newly announced route commence, AirAsia X will become the only airline to be offering direct flights between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur.

“As we build on our strong growth momentum in 2024, we are thrilled to launch AAX’s next adventure in Karachi—a dynamic city with a rich history and a thriving modern economy, similar to Kuala Lumpur with its melting pot of cultures, architectural marvels and so much more," said AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail.

While the airline has gained huge traction for expanding its operational footprint, it's making the inaugural flights more compelling by offering promotional fares from Karachi to Kuala Lumpur, starting from Rs 64,990, one-way, and from Kuala Lumpur to Karachi for RM959, one-way.

It's worth noting that AAX has also been playing a vital role in connecting travellers from Malaysia and its neighbouring ASEAN region to Pakistan, introducing them to the country’s vibrant trade, tourism and economic opportunities.
