Alibaba introduces Trade Assurance in Pakistan

Alibaba, a business-to-business (B2B) giant operating globally, on Monday announced the launch of Trade Assurance in Pakistan, aiming to empower and boost confidence among local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The announcement was made during the 2025 Alibaba.com Pakistan Supplier Export Summit, held in Sialkot, a prominent industrial hub.

While addressing the event, the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Ikram Ul Haq praised the host city for its industrial significance and potential.

“Alibaba.com’s decision to hold the Pakistan Supplier Export Summit in Sialkot underscores the city’s industrial importance and potential,” the president stated.

“This event has brought immense value to our local businesses by connecting them with global opportunities and introducing the tools needed to succeed in international markets,” he noted.

“Pakistan represents a high-potential supplier market for Alibaba.com, boasting robust production capabilities and a diverse range of product categories that capture substantial global buyer interest.” Head of Southeast Asia at Alibaba.com Roger Luo, said.

Moreover, the company shared insights into growth opportunities and emerging trends in the global apparel industry, which is projected to reach $1.79 trillion by 2024, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.81% from 2024 to 2028.

This launch also marks Pakistan’s entry into a select group of markets where the Chinese e-commerce platform has introduced this valuable service for suppliers.
