State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially announced a "Bank Holiday" on Monday, March 03, 2025, to facilitate the deduction of Zakat for the holy month of Ramadan.
Notably, the deduction of Zakat will be done by instructions contained in the Notification issued by the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.
Moreover, the central bank said that on this day, all banks, such as Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and Microfinance Banks (MFBs), will remain closed for public dealings.
SBP stated: "However, all bank employees / DFIs / MFBs will attend the office on "Bank Holiday", treating it as a normal working day (except for public dealing)."
