In line with Pakistan's efforts to bring about countrywide digitalisation, the IT ministry is reportedly all set to launch a National Super App and Web Portal as part of the Digital Pakistan initiative.
The app and digital portal will make it easier for citizens and businesses to access government services, while connecting citizens to NADRA’s National Digital ID system and bringing various government departments under one digital umbrella at both the federal and provincial levels.
What is Pakistan's National Super App?
Pakistan's National Super App is also backed by the World Bank and the Digital Economy Enhancement Project, as reported by PhoneWorld.
Those Using the app will be able to access services like licence renewals, tax payments, permits, NOCs, corporate licensing, and government fee submissions anytime, day or night, via mobile or web.
The introduction of digital workflows and automation is also tied to this platform, a move likely to save time and costs while enhancing efficiency and transparency in government services.
What guarantees user data security around this app is biometric verification, a Zero Trust security model and end-to-end encryption.
In future, the platform will also support new government services and third-party offerings. Additional features being considered include subscription services, premium models, and in-app advertising.
It's worth adding that the IT ministry is currently in pursuit of a consultancy firm to design and develop the Super App.
Experts are of the view that this project will improve the relationship between the government and the public through digital transformation.
