A good-will trait of Google, when it comes to keeping users posted with top-of-the-line features, is to bring Android operating system updates at regular intervals, annually. So is the case of this time,

Desktop mode on Android 15

While this year's upcoming Android update, Android 15, seems to be a bit sub-par update, with expected enhancements including a predictive back gesture animation and partial screen sharing, a recent rumour presented Android enthusiasts with something we're delighted to talk about: desktop mode on Android.

In a bid to keep tabs on fresh features and enhancements, Mishaal Rahman, a correspondent of Android Police, discovered references to a built-in desktop mode on Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1.

Although there's no indication of whether Android 15 will be offered with its native desktop mode, it clearly points towards one with Android's entire flagship app collection running in resizeable floating windows.

The integration of an adaptive display on one single operating system should be applauded. However, despite all the favouring aspects of Android, a user with demanding device capabilities, such as intensive gaming and handling tasks beyond trivial documents, would be left behind, seeking a device which caters to his productivity needs.

If comes true, a desktop mode on Android would ensure a user experience more in line with that of a full-fledged computer, a blessing for those looking to keep up with modern-day device usage.

Android 15 release date
