But it appears that Google is getting more considerate of people's insecurity regarding their sensitive personal, financial, and medical information as it's reportedly going to offer an extra layer of data security with slight tweaks in the Android 16 update.
Fret no more about the protection of your data if you have been, all you need to do is to get enrolled in Google’s Advanced Protection Program, which encodes certain features for the purpose of security.
As per Android Authority, the Android 16 update is expected to tone up the Advanced Protection by implementing additional security measures within apps when the mode is enabled.
The Advanced Protection Program was rolled out in 2017 by Google to smear an extra layer of protection, especially for individuals whose Google accounts have classified data tremendously.
The category of such individuals could include IT admins, journalists, activists, business executives, and politicians. Those opting for the Advanced Protection Program must use a passkey to sign into your Google account.
And since everything comes at a cost, the inability to download files marked as harmful by Google Chrome, and getting blocked from allowing Google-disapproved apps access to Google account data come as the disadvantage of leveraging Google's data protection facility.
Android 15 release date
Since the in-the-pipeline Android 15 is likely to be released at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025, those willing to embrace the Android 16 must practise patience as there's no chance it will be rolled out until the end of 2025.
