Months after being in the works, Apple has finally released the first developer beta of iOS 18.2 with a host of new Apple Intelligence features for developers to test.
Besides being a much-hyped, historical iOS update, it brings a plethora of much-wanted artificial intelligence (AI) features such as image generation features, Genmoji and Image Playground.
New AI features in iOS 18.2
The beta version of the new iOS update underwent an extensive and more comprehensive incorporation of ChatGPT into Siri and Apple’s Writing Tools.
The iPhone 16 users will be graced with Visual Intelligence, a freshly-cooked feature accessible from the Camera Control, enabling iPhone users to garner insights into whatever they see through the camera.
Progressing on iOS 18.1, iOS 18.2 will officially roll out next week with basic Apple Intelligence features like Writing Tools, Siri improvements, and Photos Clean Up.
Image Playground in iOS 18.2 allows users to personalise images with just text prompts, and the Genmoji tool lets them design their own emojis from the keyboard, offering an additional layer of aesthetic touch-ups to uplift the visual appeal of emojis.
Apple Intelligence available beyond US
The newly rolled-out iOS update makes Apple Intelligence available outside of the US, supporting English-speaking regions like the UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand.
