Apple has announced two new highly anticipated features for the iOS 26 update that were purposefully not announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) last month.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the Cupertino-based tech giant is bringing two new features, including live translation for AirPods and Wi-Fi syncing features across Apple devices.
This development demonstrates Apple's continuous efforts to improve user experience and increase ecosystem capabilities.
The live translation feature is poised to transform communication by enabling users to have conversations with people who speak different languages, through real-time translations provided via AirPods.
On the other hand, the Wi-Fi syncing feature will simplify public Wi-Fi usage by eliminating the need for multiple device logins.
According to the report, these features were initially expected to debut at WWDC, but Apple has shifted its strategy to avoid announcing features that aren’t ready to ship.
Following last year's experience, where a number of features announced at the conference were later postponed, therefore, the company has taken a more cautious approach.
Gurman also reported that these features are still expected to roll out later this year, most likely in the beta testing stage or as part of iOS 26.1 in October or iOS 26.2 in December.
