Netflix and Ubisoft are finally turning the world of Assassin's Creed into a reality again, and they're doing it this time the right way.

Assassin's Creed is a global video game franchise by Ubisoft that sees talented assassins moving through various ages.

Assassin's Creed new update

The game combines stealth, action, and historical fiction, with millions of fans worldwide. Netflix and Ubisoft planned a live-action adaptation of the game in 2020. That was the last update, until now.

In a significant development, Netflix has officially announced that the Assassin's Creed live-action show has been assigned its writers' room five years after being initially announced.

The streaming behemoth is working on the show with Ubisoft and is set to produce live-action, animated, and anime adaptations of the franchise.

Moreover, the series wishes to salvage the brand following the failure of the 2016 Assassin's Creed film, which did not work with poor ratings and reviews for its lacklustre writing and awful visuals.

This time around, Netflix is putting money into a robust creative team. Westworld's Roberto Patino and Halo's David Wiener will spearhead the project.

They are accompanied by Watchmen's Claire Kiechel, The Affair's Jaquén Castellanos, A League of Their Own's Sanaz Toossi, The Walking Dead: World Beyond's Sam Reynolds, and Station Eleven's Emily St. John Mandel.

Furthermore, the show has not announced its cast or release date yet, but things are being expected highly.
