Bixby is reported to get resurrected as a much-improved artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, powered by large language models (LLMs) and third-party integrations.
According to rumours, Samsung is reportedly planning to upgrade One UI 8.5 with advanced Bixby with new features to provide its users a better experience. Bixby uses Perplexity AI for most of its tasks, indicating the earlier rumours about Samsung collaborating with Perplexity were accurate.
While Bixby integration doesn't stop there. It will also work with The Weather Channel, HERE Maps, Skyscanner and Uber.
The Bixby assistant can stay on top of other apps so you can interact with it at any time. You can like/dislike answers from Bixby, continue your conversation and follow the source by tapping on the Source button, which will lead you to Perplexity's website or app.
The Bixby also remembers your conversations and does other tasks like turn off Bluetooth, turn on Dark Mode or perform other simple tasks on your handset. "Uploading documents and discussing them in a predefined style is also an option."
You may also be able to share your phone's camera viewfinder with Bixby Live to let it see what's around you. You can even share your phone's screen with it and discuss it. When you are sharing the camera viewfinder with it, you can use one of the three modes: AI Solver, General, and Translation.
Now, the upcoming update of Bixby might offer new features with better experience with the One UI 8.5.
