Days after it marked a groundbreaking debut in Pakistan, Google Wallet has now been integrated into Bookme, a travel and ticketing platform used widely across Pakistan, allowing users to add, use and manage their electronic tickets (e-tickets).
The storage of e-tickets in Google Wallet will be supported on both Android and Wear OS devices.
It's worth noting that Bookme launched e-ticketing for the first time in the country in 2013, providing frequent and occasional travellers with contactless, digital travel bookings while getting rid of paper-based transactions requiring users to carry cash.
The integration of Bookme into Google Wallet has come to complement how the latter revolutionised tickets and payment management around the world.
Bookme founder & CEO Faizan Aslam said: “Bookme introduced e-ticketing in Pakistan, and now, with Google Wallet, we are taking it to the next level. This partnership will provide unparalleled convenience to travelers and event-goers, allowing them to store and use their tickets digitally, just like the rest of the world.”
