Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the latest entry in the popular first-person shooter series, is offering a free Season 2 bundle for PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) subscribers. The bundle includes two operator skins, three weapon blueprints, a double XP token, and more.
However, the offer is exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players, leaving Xbox and PC players disappointed.
Exclusive PS Plus bundle sparks controversy
The Black Ops 6 Season 2 bundle became available on February 4 through the PlayStation Store. To claim it, players must be active PS Plus subscribers and redeem the bundle from the store. The pack includes:
- 2 operator skins
- 3 weapon blueprints
- 2 animated emotes
- Weapon charm, reticle, emblem, and background
- 2 stickers
- 2 double XP and 2 double weapon XP tokens (1 hour each)
Although it's a free giveaway, fans are annoyed because the operator skins were once part of paid bundles. Those who used COD Points to purchase these skins feel deceived.
Another concern among fans is that Xbox Game Pass subscribers are not getting the same offer, even though Activision is now owned by Microsoft. In October 2023, Microsoft acquired Activision-Blizzard for $68.7 billion, raising expectations that Xbox players would receive similar in-game benefits. However, PlayStation users are still getting exclusive content, leading to confusion and criticism.
