Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is officially shutting down. The game, which launched globally on March 21, 2024, allowed players to experience the fast-paced action of Warzone on their phones while keeping progress synced with console and PC.

However, after just over a year, Activision has decided to wind it down.

Call of Duty: Warzone taken down from App Store

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the company admitted that the mobile version "did not live up to expectations" compared to how it ran on PC and console.

It is to note,  Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will thus be pulled from the App Store and Google Play after Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Those who already have the game installed through Monday, May 19, will still be able to play the game. They will also still enjoy access to their shared progress, content, and matchmaking servers.

However, no future updates, seasonal content, or cross-platform social features will be added to it.

In a very well-documented support page, Activision further declared that there would be no purchasing of fresh content with real money, and no refunds on unspent COD Points or previous purchases.

Despite its huge success and smooth cross-progression from console and PC, Warzone Mobile did not impress enough mobile-first gamers. It is a rare retreat for Activision and Microsoft, which were hoping to grow their presence in mobile games.

Although disappointing for gamers, the firm thanked players for their assistance and said that the decision was taken with "careful consideration."
