An overhaul to digital payment infrastructure has started hovering over Pakistan, as PayFast has partnered with Askari Bank to launch a white-label checkout solution utilising Raast for easier payments.

The partnership between a fintech licensed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and one of the country's top commercial banks laid the groundwork to digitalise the economy, for which various initiatives are already in place.

The team-up stepped into the limelight during a ceremony at Askari Bank’s Digital Innovation Lab in Islamabad, marking the beginning of the provision of secure and efficient digital payment experiences for businesses and consumers across Pakistan.

Under this alliance, Askari Bank will employ PayFast’s strong infrastructure to offer its customers a fully branded digital checkout solution.

Raast, Pakistan’s online instant payment system, stands as the cornerstone of this collaboration. By offering Raast-based transactions, the platform will make Person-to-Merchant (P2M) payments faster and more secure, while providing more businesses and individuals with reliable digital payment options.

This initiative is in line with the government's efforts for a cashless Pakistan by creating a digitally empowered economy.

The development testifies that PayFast and Askari Bank are committed to advancing the adoption of Raast in Pakistan.
