Bandai Namco has officially announced that Elden Ring, the beloved fantasy RPG developed by FromSoftware, has surpassed 23 million copies in sales since its debut in 2022.

This impressive milestone comes on the heels of the unveiling of the game's first major expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, along with a captivating gameplay trailer and a confirmed release date.

The sales figure encompasses both physical copies and digital downloads across all platforms, including the popular Steam platform for PC.

Elden Ring becomes best-selling title for company

Elden Ring has now become FromSoftware's best-selling title, comfortably outpacing the success of Dark Souls 3, which achieved over 10 million units sold. Surpassing even the Dark Souls series, which has shipped over 27 million copies, Elden Ring continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

With the imminent release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, scheduled for June 21, 2023, the game's sales are expected to soar even higher. This expansion promises to expand upon the rich narrative of the base game, introducing new environments, adversaries, and challenges for players to overcome.

Meanwhile, Elden Ring remains a formidable presence on Steam, boasting a robust concurrent player count of approximately 50,000 users.

Bandai Namco's confirmation of Elden Ring's remarkable sales success follows their earlier announcement in February 2023, marking the game's achievement of 20 million copies sold within a year of its launch.
