As Pakistan has been on the lookout for embracing Elon Musk's satellite-based internet services, Starlink has moved another step closer to receiving formal approval to operate in the country.

It's worth mentioning that the development comes as Starlink Internet Services (Pvt) Ltd, a SpaceX subsidiary, has successfully fulfilled the requirements proposed by the Pakistan Authority for Space and Regulatory Bodies (PASRB).

Citing sources, Business Recorder reported that the Musk-owned internet service provider is also scheduled to be granted the required license within a week or two by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

As Starlink has outmanoeuvred all the regulatory and operational hurdles in the country, it strongly indicates that the satellite-based internet provider is just days ahead of making a commercial entry into Pakistan.

In another major development in this regard, Pakistan recently kicked off pilot testing of Starlink’s satellite-to-cell service in a bid to meet the prerequisites essential for Starlink's smooth, full-scale deployment.

Startlink's launch in the country is marked by the primary objective of addressing mobile dead regions and introducing them to internet connectivity of global standards.
