Instagram has officially introduced a new update, making content scheduling, performance insights, and trending audio access available to all public accounts, which will eliminate the need of users to first switch to a Professional Mode account before unlocking those tools.

Taking to its Instagram post, 'creators' shared: "We’re making it easier to get started on Instagram, especially for creators who are earlier on in their journey. That means expanded access to creator tools and clearer eligibility, all in one place, so you’ll know exactly what you can use now and what’s needed to unlock more."

What's new in Instagram update?

Instagram update brings three new tools — available to all users — which displays how content is performing; content scheduling; and access to the app’s trending audio tools. All three had previously integrated behind Professional Mode, requiring users to formally convert their personal account into a business or creator account before gaining access.

Now, you will not require to convert your personal account into professional, as post scheduling will not need any changes. The platform is framing the update as a way to lower the barrier to entry for new creators, giving them access to foundational tools at the start of their journey rather than after reaching certain thresholds or making account-type decisions they may not be ready for.

Instagram update aims to give creators access to key features, while some tools — such as Instagram Live and monetisation tools — will remain exclusive to Professional Mode users or will become available only after accounts reach certain follower thresholds.

However, the ability to schedule and track your content's performance can improve engagement and discoverability on Instagram.

Where to find 'Creator Tools & Eligibility Updates' on Instagram?

Users can easily head to 'Account Type and Tools within Settings' to see what tools are available to them. Instagram update allows users to pick a feature to try to jumpstart their progress and boost their creative journey.
