The globally popular social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has been restored in the US after briefly facing an outage, leaving users puzzled.

The Elon Musk-owned platform displayed a message typically reserved for welcoming new users, adding to the confusion of its vast user base.

The latest X outage marks another instance when the service came to a standstill for unidentified reasons. The disruption is also being attributed to Cloudflare.

With the bygone X outage in place, users were reportedly unable to access the platform, wondering when it would be fully operational again.

The first X outage of the ongoing week began early on November 18, when parts of the internet were paralysed by a global Cloudflare outage. At the time, users around the world reported difficulties accessing numerous popular websites and applications, including X, ChatGPT, YouTube, and Spotify.

Downdetector, a popular website that monitors the online status of various websites and applications, also went offline due to the outage.

When attempting to access their feeds or search for content, many X users encountered frustrating error messages such as “Something went wrong. Try reloading”.

It should be noted that not all users were affected by the X outage in question, as X was functioning normally for some, while others experienced intermittent access.
