After nearly eight years of development and over seven years of beta testing, Escape From Tarkov's version 1.0 is officially launching on November 11, as confirmed by developer Battlestate Games.

The hardcore extraction shooter started out as a limited alpha in 2016 and moved to closed beta in 2017, where it has sat until now, with players being able to only play by pre-purchasing one of the game’s editions, which included different tiers of rewards.

What can we expect in Escape From Tarkov version 1.0?

While the developer hasn’t disclosed patch notes or any new features, speculation has arisen that the main campaign (which has been a long time coming) could arrive in this update. The official description of Escape From Tarkov calls it a story-driven game, which certainly lends shade to these thoughts.

Battlestate released the announcement through a trailer on YouTube, which featured the release date but no new gameplay.

The studio also intends to have appearances at major gaming events, including PAX West, Tokyo Game Show, Paris Games Week, and G-Star, indicating more reveals and post-launch content for version 1.0.

Pre-purchase editions still available

Players can still pre-purchase any of the four available editions, all granting beta access before the official release. Each tier includes in-game perks, with premium bundles offering exclusive rewards.
