Battlefield 6 is currently in its open beta phase, with EA and DICE's newest instalment in the first-person shooter series expected to launch on October 10.

Battlefield has a long-standing reputation for large-scale battles, destructible environments, and realistic military gameplay, which has already attracted thousands of prospective players into the beta phase.

Gamers are excited to get a chance to test all the new things and abilities before the beta ends. Unfortunately, a bug has already popped up, and it’s getting under the skin of many players, because it secretly breaks the aim after certain slides.

Initially brought to light by streamer Shroud, who has a lot of testing and recommendations in the pilot stage of the game, and then a few days later tested further by YouTuber TheXclusiveAce, the problem is related to the game's bloom mechanic, the specific mechanic that modifies weapon spread and bullet accuracy.

According to both tests, if a player’s slide animation is cancelled outright, such as by jumping or colliding with an object (any terrain), the game incorrectly puts the player into a "sliding bloom state" where their aim is locked to a larger spray than anticipated.

This larger area caused bullets to miss targets and for a larger downward spray from running and then aim firing. A player may not know their aim is off since there is no on-screen indicator.

Battlefield will not have the type of slide cancel that Call of Duty has been known for; however, slides can be cancelled or interrupted by jumping or bumping against any terrain.

Both interruptions appear to unlock the 'bug'. The bloom does not seem to return to normal after running or stopping until a player receives an accurate reset of bloom, according to testers.
