FBR to buy 1,010 Honda City cars by May 2025

In a bid to expand its vehicle fleet this year, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced to buy more than 1,000 Honda City cars this year.

In a Letter of Intent issued by the taxation regulatory body to Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited, the former stated its will to purchase 1,010 Honda City 1.2L CVT vehicles for approximately Rs6 billion.

As reported by ProPakistani, the acquisition will be executed in two phases, with the first phase including the payment of Rs3bn upfront cost for the purchase.

It's worth noting that the initial rollout of the paycheck will recompense the full payment for 500 units and partial payment of the balance amount for the remaining 510 units). Meanwhile, the remaining amount will be paid at the time of the vehicles' first batch delivery.

Citing official documents regarding the massive vehicle acquisition, the publication noted that the entire fleet of 1,010 Honda City cars will be equipped with many value-added features at no additional charge.

These features include a navigation system with a reverse camera, a high-grade interior, free periodic maintenance for up to 20,000 km or 12 months, and an extended warranty of four years or 100,000 km.

The regulatory body has also demanded the installation of a tracking system in each car with a one-year service charge and a discounted renewal fee.
