Naoki Yoshida, the producer and director of Final Fantasy 14, announced during the 2024 Tokyo Fan Fest Keynote that the last playable race to be introduced in the well-received MMORPG would be the female Hrothgar.
While they won't be available until the Dawntrail expansion release, players can anticipate encountering a female Hrothgar character in the upcoming Patch 6.55.

FF14 enthusiasts must exercise patience for additional insights into the exploration of Tural's New World and embracing the roles of the Viper and Pictomancer.
The final playable race for Final Fantasy 14, a female Hrothgar, was prominently featured at the conclusion of the trailer. Initially hinted in Patch 6.5, Growing Light, this leonine warrior, the daughter of Tural's ruler, will debut in Patch 6.55 on January 16.
While concluding the event, Yoshida and Final Fantasy 14 localisation lead Kate Cwynar unveiled a trailer showcasing the in-game appearance of the female Hrothgar with Dawntrail's enhanced graphics.
While confirming the female Hrothgar as the ultimate race, Yoshida kept the possibility open for players to propose future ideas for Final Fantasy 14.

Although no specific release date was provided for Dawntrail, Yoshida affirmed that the previously mentioned summer 2024 timeframe remained accurate.
