Dense fog, and poor visibility on Tuesday disrupted air travels, resulting in the cancellation and delay of several domestic and international flights at Islamabad International Airport and Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.

Airport officials stated that poor visibility and unsafe weather conditions caused delays to international flights' take-offs and landings. Qatar Airways' Doha flight experienced a delay for more than one hour, while AirSial's Riyadh-bound flight took off almost two hours late.

Emirates' Dubai take-off was also delayed for over one hour. Several other international flights to Urumqi, Tehran, and Istanbul, including Fly Jinnah's flight from Islamabad to Jeddah, were affected and cancelled.

Safety concerns led to the cancellation of several domestic flights, including

  • Pakistan International Airlines' (PIA) flight PA-201 to Gilgit.
  • PK-451 to Skardu and PK-603 to Gilgit, and AirSial cancelled its flight to Sukkur.

There were also delays on Fly Jinnah and AirSial flights to Karachi. The weather in northern regions is still unsuitable for safe operations, according to officials.

At Jinnah International Airport, seven flights were cancelled due to technical and operational issues. which include:

  • Airplane flight D-7109 to Kuala Lumpur
  • Ethiopian Airlines ET-695 to Addis Ababa
  • AirSial’s Karachi to Lahore flights PF-143 and PF-145
  • AirSial’s Islamabad-bound flight PF-123
  • Airblue’s Karachi to Lahore flight PA-402
  • PIA’s Karachi to Lahore flight PK-306

They stated that once the unfavourable weather conditions improve, operations will resume as usual. PAA advised passengers to stay in contact with their respective airlines for up-to-date flight information and check with their airlines before travelling.
