For five years starting in 2026, all Formula 1 races in the US will be exclusively streamed on Apple TV, as Apple has announced that it has secured exclusive US broadcasting rights for Formula 1.

The development makes Apple TV the sole streaming platform for all Formula 1 races starting in the 2026 season.

Apple's five-year agreement with Formula 1 replaces ESPN as the broadcaster.

Given that, Apple TV subscribers will have complete access to all practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions, and Grands Prix, with select Formula 1 races and practice sessions available for free in the Apple TV app.

The iPhone maker reportedly offered between $140 million and $150 million annually for acquiring these rights, which is significantly more than ESPN's current $85 million deal. The total value of the agreement is around $750 million over five years.

This announcement comes after Apple's recent rebranding of its streaming service from “Apple TV+” to simply “Apple TV.”

Apple's acquisition of Formula 1 US broadcasting rights also builds on Apple’s partnership with Formula 1 for the film “F1 The Movie,” starring Brad Pitt, which grossed $629 million globally, making it the highest-grossing sports film ever.

Besides broadcasting, Apple also has plans to enhance the Formula 1 experience across its platforms, including Apple News, Apple Maps, Apple Music, and Apple Fitness+.

The Apple Sports app will now provide live updates, leaderboards, and season standings for every Grand Prix.

With the development in place, Formula 1 joins Apple TV's expanding sports lineup, which includes Major League Soccer and Major League Baseball.
