Gears of War: Reloaded, a remastered version of the original 2006 hit, is officially set to launch on August 26, 2025, with full support for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

The game will mark a new era for the popular franchise, known for its intense third-person shooter gameplay and gritty storyline about a war-torn world overrun by monsters called the Locust Horde.

What to expect from Gears of War: Reloaded?

Microsoft has announced that Gears of War: Reloaded will feature 4K resolution, up to 120 frames per second, and cross-play across all platforms.

For the first time in history, the game will launch on PlayStation, discontinuing its Xbox-exclusive past, a significant change in Microsoft's gaming policy.

Created by The Coalition, with Sumo Digital and Disbelief, the game features all the content of the 2015 Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, now optimised for the new generation.

This features a smoother 60 fps campaign, 120 fps in multiplayer, remastered textures, better audio, and no loading screens during missions.

Microsoft claims Gears of War: Reloaded is the "most comprehensive edition" of the original. The remaster contains all post-launch DLC in full, including additional campaign levels, multiplayer levels, modes, and a complete roster of fan favourite characters and skins.

Gears of War: Reloaded release and price

Priced at $39.99, the game is now live on the wishlist for Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. It will also be available via Xbox Cloud Gaming and Game Pass, offering fans more options to play.
