Google Drive, a free cloud-based service provided by Google, offers its users free storage, making it easy for the users to organise their files under different categories such as files shared with you, recently accessed files, a built-in trash can, spam and much more.
On Google Drive, users can also store their important work files such as Word documents, PDFs, Excel sheets, images, audio, and even videos.
Google has been working to make this storage platform more attractive for the creators, by putting some new captioning tools to the app.

The tech giant is likely to introduce an automatic transcription generation feature for videos on Google Drive.
Previously, one had to manually generate captions for their videos on Drive which itself was a difficult task to do. However, with the new update, you will be able to generate captions easily.
How to turn on subtitles for videos on Google Drive
- Select the video you want to transcribe
- Open the video on Drive,
- Now tap the three dots on the top right.
- The menu will show a new Manage caption tracks option, click on it.
This way, you will be able to generate captions.
Once the captions are generated, you can also edit the transcription and download it. Whereas you can also tap the CC button on the player to watch your video with the generated captions.
It is important to note that auto-transcripts will only work for videos that are uploaded once the feature rolls out.
As of now, English is the only supported language for automatically generated captions on Google Drive while other languages might be added in the future.
