Last year, Apple introduced a new feature in tvOS 17, allowing users to FaceTime on their Apple TV in 4K, making it possible to connect with friends and family on the biggest screen in the house.

With Live Captions enabled during a FaceTime call, everything said during the conversation will appear as a live transcript on the screen.
This feature won’t change much for regular users, but it will create a more inclusive experience, especially for people who are hard of hearing or deaf. The live captions will enable them to carry on conversations and make the most of their large-screen device.
Apple TV Live Captions availability
Live captions will also be coming to FaceTime on the Vision Pro, packaged with VisionOS 2.
They'll be available on the Apple TV 4K 2nd generation and later, as older models won't be compatible with this feature.
Initially, the captions will support English in the US and Canada, with more languages and territories expected to be added in the future.
