Meta on Friday released a slew of features for WhatsApp just in time for the holidays, aiming to give users more control over their usage on the platform. The latest update is equipped with exciting new additions, including missed call messages, fun Status stickers, and more.
Meta-owned instant messaging platform said that the new features are making it easier than ever for users to connect with those who matter most.
What's in WhatsApp new update?
Missed call messages: It is a new feature on WhatsApp, allowing users to record a note if the recipient isn't available to attend calls. Depending on the call type, they can either record a voice or a video note and send it to them with one tap. “This new approach will make voicemails a thing of the past,” said the company.
Reactions in voice chats: Voice chats help you shift between messaging and talking live without ringing the whole group. You can now easily react during a voice chat, so you can share a quick 'cheers!' without interrupting the conversation.
Group call speaker spotlight: On video calls, the speaker is automatically prioritised to help you follow along more easily.
Chats upgradation on WhatsApp
Meta AI image creation improvements: Meta AI has delivered new image generation model capabilities from Midjourney and Flux on WhatsApp, as you’ll notice advancements when creating annual holiday greetings to share in your chats or status.
New media tab on desktop: With this feature, you can search for your documents, links, and media across chats all in one organised place.
Cleaner link previews: Meta has improved the look of link previews, simplifying long URL links to prevent disrupting the chat and keep the conversation flowing.
WhatsApp's latest update
New stickers on Status: Meta has introduced two more ways to express yourself on Status, including the addition of music lyrics, questions to which others can respond, and interactive stickers you can tap to engage with.
Questions on Channels: Meta has also launched questions on Channels so admins can better engage with their audience and get responses in real-time.
