Flyover callout on Google Maps
Flyover callout is substantially a great feature that would assist in guiding the upcoming flyovers along with their routes for their better comprehension and to decide whether you should select the particular route or not.
According to the general manager of Google Maps, Lalitha Ramani, “Flyover guidance has been one of the most requested features from our users, we have heard you and acted on it.“
Moreover, this feature has already been rolled out in approximately 40 cities in the country for bikes and cars.

EV charging locations on Google Maps
The Alphabet-owned company, Google, further said that it is planning to integrate almost 8,000 EV charging locations in India in collaboration with ElectricPe, Ather, Kazam, and Statiq — EV charging providers.
General manager of Google Maps, Lalitha Ramani added in a press conference on Thursday, July 25, “We are seeing a real surge in EV adoption in India, both for cars and two-wheelers and we want to make sure that EV drivers have the information they need.”
Metro ticket booking on Google Maps
Google Maps is soon to bring another great feature where users would be able to check out all the directions to their destinations in the metro tab. Moreover, the Metro leg of the route would allow you to book metro tickets.
Additionally, this feature came into existence in collaboration with the government-led Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and ride-booking app Namma Yatri. It is soon to be live in Kochi and Chennai.
How to book metro tickets on Google Maps
- Navigate to book a metro ticket by clicking on it and you will be launched to its main screen on Namma Yatri.
- Now, enter your contact number and pay to receive the AR code of the ticket.
Navigating narrow roads
Google Maps is bringing this great feature that would easily estimate the road widths, but it would be initially live only in eight countries including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Indore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, and Guwahati.
Moreover, it will be going live in Android and iPhone users are required to wait for some time.
