After a long time, Google has officially launched a major update of its Snapseed photo editor app for its iOS users, providing an enhanced editing experience.

Alphabet-owned tech giant revealed on Thursday, June 12, 2025, that Snapseed version 3.0 is the programme, which offers a complete redesign of both the iPhone and iPad apps.

All of the images that have been edited with the tool are displayed in a grid. Navigation has been rearranged into three tabs, with a new Faves section for the photo tools that you want to quickly use on the regular.

Snapseed gets a new update

It is worth noting that Snapseed features more than 25 different tools and filters for altering photos, including some newly added film filters.

Snapseed also has refreshed its logo with a more streamlined appearance. On the other hand, there is a brand-new interface that shows photos you have edited in a grid.

To start editing on Snapseed, tap the circular ‘plus’ FAB (floating action button) at the bottom of your screen.

The editor is organised into three tabs: Looks, Faves (new), and Tools. Export has moved to the top-right corner.

That middle tab allows you to save tools for quick access, while everything is available from that last tab. Available tools include:

  1. Adjust and correct: Adjust, Details, Tonality, Curves, White Balance, Lens Blur, Vignette
  2. Retouch and transform: Selective, Brush, Healing, Portrait, Crop, Perspective, Expand, Head Pose
  3. Style: Film (new), Glow, Retrolux, Vintage, Black & White, HDR Scape, Drama, Noir, Grunge
  4. Creative: Double Exposure, Frames, and Text
