The Google Search app is set to introduce an innovative feature called “Search Recall” that allows users to efficiently recall their most recent search and repeat the query easily. The feature is similar to the one already available on the iOS version of the app.

The tech giant is making upgrades in its Search app to maintain its position as the leading search engine and the addition of this feature aims to enhance the search experience on smartphones.

An APK teardown of the Google app version 15.34.32.29.arm64 beta discovered a new floating popup shortcut on the app.

Here's how search recall feature works

The pop-up appears when a user conducts a search through the Google app. It is also functional from the search bar. While the tech giant tracks user search queries, with this Search Recall feature, it will focus on the most recent query.

In this way, when a user opens the app or accesses the search bar, a rounded popup appears featuring the latest search query done, providing a reminder.

However, users will have the option to either accept the suggestion or dismiss it with a single tap. The pop-up remains visible for a few seconds only.

Currently, the Search Recall feature is only available in the beta version of the app. However, Google has placed the Search Recall feature under experimental flags, meaning users will have to activate it manually.

This Search Recall pop-up is indeed practical and useful, especially for multitaskers or professionals who perform several searches at a time.
