Gemini is “now fully rolled out in English in the US.” Whereas the company is also utilising Play Store release notes, stating, “The app is now fully rolled out in English in the U.S. We updated voice commands to include auto submit. No need to hit the ‘send’ button anymore.”
On Tuesday evening, Jack Krawczyk from Google announced that the Gemini app has begun rolling out in English in multiple countries and will be expanding to more countries over the next few days. Some users have been able to install the Gemini app/APK by sideloading it, but it is expected to be available internationally through the Play Store soon.
Google has not yet introduced support for Japanese or Korean languages in the Gemini app, but it is planned for the near future. Additionally, Google has started implementing an opt-in prompt above the Assistant panel on Android. The team is also working on adding more Assistant features to Gemini.
Initially, iOS had slower availability compared to Android, but it is now expected to align with its pace, as the AI tool is also included in the Google app for iPhone users (iOS 16+), which is quite impressive when viewed from a broader perspective.
It is logical that the well-liked Search app, which already incorporates Discover and a mini-browser experience, is being utilised to bring Gemini to Apple users. However, it is important to note that Gemini has no connection to the Search Generative Experience (SGE).
