
Google I/O 2024 is the tech giant's annual developer conference where it showcases new hardware and software updates. This year the conference will take place on May 14 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, and we're expecting a mix of hardware and software updates.

Pixel 8A
Google will launch the Pixel 8a, a budget-friendly device with premium features like AI tools and seven years of OS and security updates. The Pixel 8A will be priced at $500 and is expected to be a popular choice for those looking for a more affordable smartphone.
Android 15
We'll likely get a pack on the next version of Android, currently in beta that includes new features like app archiving and end-to-end encryption. Android 15 is expected to bring several productivity, privacy and security improvements to Android devices.

Google AI Updates
Google will likely share more about its AI plans at the Google I/O event, including the rollout of Gemini, its ChatGPT competitor, and improvements to AI features like Circle to Search. Google is investing heavily in AI, and we expect to see some interesting developments in this area.
Other updates
We can see improvements across Google's suite of products, including Search, Maps, Drive, and more. A new Pixel Fold device is also being speculated, but it's unclear if it will be announced at I/O. Additionally, Google may share more about its partnership with Samsung to jointly develop its Wear OS smartwatch software and operating system.
