Google Pixel September update: Pixel 9 and 9 Pro Wi-Fi issues fixed

Google has begun rolling out the new September security update patch for Android 14 to select Pixel devices. The update addresses various security issues and vulnerabilities including Wi-Fi improvements for the Pixel 9 devices.

This Android 14 September security patch resolves 36 security issues, ranging from high to critical level.

Pixel 9 and 9 Pro Wi-Fi issue

The tech giant started shipping the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro to buyers a few days ago. While the Pixel 9 series is being praised for its innovative features and upgrades. Several reviewers complained about a couple of issues, including wireless charging problem on the Pixel 9 series. 

However, a few users also complained about the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s camera tilt and other touch-related problems as well. 

A small number of key fixes are included in the September update that will address critical bugs affecting security and connectivity issues, especially in Pixel 9 devices. 

With the update, the company has improved Wi-Fi stability and performance in certain conditions on devices including Pixel 9, and 9 Pro. 

Moreover, it also removed the third-party APK to address security vulnerabilities. This fix is intended for Pixel smartphones ranging from the Pixel 6 to Pixel 8a. 

Devices receiving Google Pixel September update

Google Pixel 6 series including Pixel 6 Pro and 6a, Pixel 7 series including 7 Pro, and 7a, Pixel 8 series which includes 8 Pro, and 8a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel 9 series including 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold are in the list of devices receiving Google Pixel September update. 

Notably, the Pixel 5a released back in 2021 has reached the end of its support lifecycle, meaning it won’t longer receive any software updates or security patches.
