The Punjab government has officially announced a 10% ad-hoc relief allowance for all provincial government employees from grades 1 to 22.
According to the official notification issued by the provincial finance department, the increase will be applied to the current basic salaries of employees.
In addition to the salary hike, the government has also approved a pension increase of up to 5% for retired employees.
With these salary changes, the Punjab government aims to offer financial relief amid rising living costs and will benefit both current government workers and pensioners across the province.
Previously this month, the Shehbaz Sharif-led government has notified a 10% salary increase for its employees alongside those working in the armed forces and the civil armed forces.
In the Finance Budget 2025-26 of Pakistan, the federal government approved an increase in salaries for government employees, while pensions were raised by 10%.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Finance has issued an official notification as the decision will also apply to employees hired on contract.
Additionally, the finance ministry issued a notification for a 30% disparity allowance, which will benefit those employees who were previously not granted this allowance.
