The government of Pakistan has released a public notice advising citizens, particularly youth, to be vigilant about fake online job offers perpetrated by foreign intelligence agencies.
According to an official text message sent by the government, these agencies are using social media platforms to post misleading job advertisements under the names of well-known companies.
Once they engage in conversation, the individuals are requested to provide information, typically in images, videos or other data, of the locations of national projects or installations, disguised as research or surveys.
Authorities warned that this information is ultimately used against the security of both the country and its citizens. The message requested the citizens to be vigilant and do not fall victim to this type of fake job offer, and verify any job offers you see online.
The government warned the public to take responsible action in the nation, remain aware of the threat of cyberspace, and report to proper authorities immediately by being responsible, staying informed, and to protect country's integrity.
