Rumours regarding the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 have begun emerging, as a recent leak has disclosed a tentative release date and expected price tag, sparking widespread discussion among fans.
Although Rockstar Games, the developer, has remained tight-lipped since its first and only trailer was released on December 4, 2023, a recent online store listing and industry analysis have fueled speculation.
GTA 6 release date (expected)
XUruguay, a Spanish online retailer, briefly listed GTA 6 with a release date of September 17, 2025. However, the listing was quickly removed, leaving fans uncertain about its accuracy.
It's worth noting that this date aligns with an announcement made earlier by the developer that GTA 6 will likely be released in the fall of 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Even if the above-mentioned release date is merely a speculation and has nothing to go by, it still has great significance as it has been 12 years since Grand Theft Auto V. the last version of the GTA franchise, debuted.
How much will GTA 6 cost?
Industry analyst Matthew Ball suggested in his "State of Video Gaming in 2025" report that the standard edition of GTA 6 will likely cost $100.
Ball noted that Take-Two Interactive may seize this opportunity to introduce a higher price point for AAA games, given GTA 6's massive popularity.
