As we've come another month closer to the debut of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto (GTA) version, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has shared his thoughts on the pricing of GTA 6.

Zelnick's remarks have come on the heels of growing traction following the confirmation that GTA6 will be released in May 2026, with GTA fans speculating the price of this classic title from Rockstar Games.

While an $80 price tag has become standard for AAA games lately, many have wondered if Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, might increase the price for GTA 6 due to the immense excitement surrounding its launch.

In a recent interview with a US media outlet, Zelnick was asked about the pricing strategy for the sixth installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

While fans have been reassured that the game is on track for its May 2026 launch, a rumour started making waves last month, suggesting a delay.

Millie A, a prolific leaker, shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), disclosing Rockstar Games' internal discussions that the GTA 6 release might be pushed to September 2026.

“Planned release: May 2026, but internal talks suggest a possible slip to Sep,” read the tipster's post.

On the other hand, Zelnick stated that the final decision would be made by the publisher, with an announcement expected from the developer in due course.

The Take-Two higher-up also confirmed that the company and its subsidiaries would adhere to their traditional pricing strategy for GTA 6.
