If you're seeking ways to apply for divorce certificate, don't worry, the National Database & Registration Authority (Nadra) has introduced a facility allowing citizens to easily apply from their respective Union Councils (UCs) through the Pak-ID mobile application.
With this initiative, the authority said citizens can now apply for birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates with the comfort of their home using the Pak-ID app, eliminating the need for in-person visits and standing in long queues, while waiting for their turn.
How to apply for divorce certificate online
"Every step, every decision of your life is important Be it marriage or divorce case," said Nadra, adding that citizens can easily apply for divorce certificate online.
- Log in to your account on the Pak-ID mobile application.
- Select the respective province in the 'Provincial Civil Registration Services'.
- Click on the 'Divorce' option.
- Tap on Proceed. The application details screen will appear.
- Provide the required details in the application and tap on 'Payable fee' option to know the fee.
- As you tapped on the 'Payable fee' option, the fee will be disclosed.
- Click on the 'Start Application' option.
- On the next screen, applicants must select their spouse to remove them from the Nadra record, provide the required information, and enter both their own address and the divorcee’s address. After reviewing the details and acknowledging the declarations, applicants can pay the applicable fee and submit the application.
- Once you're done with providing all the required details in the application, and have submitted it.
- Nadra will process your application.
- After this, the divorce will be registrated in the nearest UC. Then, you have to go to the 'Applications' on the home screen of the Pak-ID app.
- Click on the download icon in front of your application.
- The divorce certificate will be downloaded to your ID Vault.
Nadra stated that this facility is currently available across all districts of Punjab, selected districts of Sindh—including Karachi East, Karachi Central, Naushahro Feroze, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Jamshoro, Tando Allahyar and Tando Muhammad Khan—and in Quetta district of Balochistan.
The authority added that work is underway in other areas and soon this facility will be provided in all districts of Pakistan.
