Pakistan introduces a new digital system where citizens can pay their passport fees online within less than a minute, aiming at making the process easier, speedier, and free of long queues at banks.

According to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, this new service replaces the old system in which people had to wait in line at National Bank branches. Now, all payments can be made securely via mobile apps or online portals.

How to pay passport fee online ?

Here's how you can pay your passport fee online:

Generate your PSID

Start by creating a Payment Slip Identification (PSID).

You can do this through:

  • The Passport Fee Asaan mobile app
  • The Paymaster.com.pk website

Each online payment needs to have a PSID.

Add the necessary prefix

According to officials, you must enter the prefix “999999” before typing your PSID in the payment field.

This helps route your payment correctly to the passport system.

Select how to pay

You can pay through:

  • Any banking application
  • ATM machines
  • Easypaisa
  • JazzCash

These options make the service usable from home, at work, or on the go. 4. Confirm your payment. Once your online payment is processed, the system will automatically verify it. There is no need to visit the bank for confirmation.

Visit the passport office

After payment is verified, go to your nearest passport office to complete the remaining application steps.

There is no need to wait in bank lines or show payment slips.

Authorities say the new online payment system cuts delays, reduces crowds, and brings more convenience for citizens across Pakistan.
