Huawei HarmonyOS NEXT: Home storage and router integration

Huawei has begun checking HarmonyOS NEXT for home storage and Wi-Fi routers, as the company is set to send the version upgrade reminder to eligible users.

Moreover, it informed device owners about the new feature integrated into the latest operating system (OS). The company began the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta program on October 8 (Tuesday), sending new upgrade reminders to the Huawei home storage and router users for HarmonyOS NEXT testing.

Home storage devices ensure that users can sync their personal computers (PCs), tablets, and phones to make file transfer more suitable. One can easily access files stored in the home storage from anywhere and anytime.

According to the upgrade reminder, the tech giant is set to develop new and smarter features for its home products, including linking tools like gallery collaboration for home storage devices. 

However, Huawei has not provided any official details of the new feature, but it will likely help with rapid and easier access to images in the home storage.

Huawei stated: “The linkage features such as home storage gallery collaboration are being adapted in the HarmonyOS NEXT system and will be gradually upgraded and supported in the future.”

Huawei is checking the HarmonyOS NEXT features for various products to enhance the user experience. Recently, the company opened the testing for smart TVs and developed new along with smart tools. Meanwhile, it is important to note that testing for phones and tablets has reached the public beta phase.
