The issue came to light after thousands of users took to social media platforms, especially the Elon Musk-owned microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), outlining the short-lived defunct which has now been looked after and subsided by the authorities concerned.

“We confirm that PTCL network is facing data outage in various cities due to which connectivity has been affected. Our teams are actively working to resolve and rectify the issue at the earliest,” said PTCL to address troubled netizens countrywide.

Although both the PTCL and broadband internet services are now functioning in a full-fledged manner, the downtime brought numerous industries and businesses to the verge of collapse.
