Islamabad just got a major boost in electric vehicle infrastructure with the opening of a new BYD EV charging station at PSO I-8 Markaz.

This station has been launched in collaboration between BYD, Hubco Green Energy, and Pakistan State Oil (PSO).

New BYD charging station

The BYD charging station falls within a commercial hub, providing EV users with the convenience of easily charging their vehicles when out on errands or in the course of work.

In its increasing drive by BYD Pakistan, the station is intended to facilitate the transition to green mobility through the provision of convenient and rapid EV charging facilities.

With the installation of chargers within existing fuel stations such as PSO, the firms are merging old and new ways of fuelling, facilitating early adopters and existing EV owners to shift without any inconvenience.

Apart from the new I-8 Markaz location, BYD charging station facilities already operate within various cities. These are:

  • PSO Station, E-11, Islamabad
  • Emporium Mall, Lahore
  • Packages Mall, Lahore
  • Emporium Charging Bay close to Nishat Hotel, Lahore
  • DHA Phase 6, Karachi (close to Sea View)

All BYD EV charging station locations are chosen with regard to convenient access to residential and commercial traffic.

This project is also in line with Pakistan's National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP), which promotes fewer carbon emissions and more use of EVs.
