A new route has been announced for Karachi’s women-only Pink Bus Service, which will now operate from Abdullah Chowk to Numaish starting November 17, 2025. The Sindh government has also set fixed travel timings to make commuting safer and easier for women.

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the Pink Bus will run at three dedicated times:

  • 8am to 9am
  • 1pm to 2pm
  • 5pm to 7pm

He said women's safety and comfort remain the top priority. "This service will help reduce the difficulties women face during daily travel in a large city like Karachi," Sharjeel said.

The buses have security systems, tracking, and trained staff; the government intends to expand this service to more areas in the near future. Sharjeel added that this would provide reliable, safe transport so women can pursue education and careers with confidence.

The Pink Bus became an instant hit after the induction of 18 new buses into its fleet last year. For a fare of only Rs50, with free rides for girls under five years, it is the much-needed public transport option for women.

The government recently announced that the Pink Scooty Scheme would enter its second phase to further facilitate mobility and independence for women.
