Karachi Traffic Police on Thursday announced a stricter enforcement targeting seat belt violators across the metropolitan city to control traffic incidents.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Traffic, the department is intensifying checks to ensure drivers and front-seat passengers comply with seat belt safety regulations. The traffic police will no longer limit enforcement to drivers alone; front-seat passengers who fail to wear seat belts will also face fines.

This move aims to discourage habitual offenders and reinforce compliance with traffic regulations.

The new policy leaves fewer chances for repeated negligence, ensuring stricter action against those who continuously break traffic laws.

The department does not have access to registration records for vehicles from other provinces, while complaints about vehicles using fake numbers have also increased, prompting closer monitoring.

It should be noted that now if you're driving in Karachi, then you should ensure to wear a seat belt, as it will not only give you safety but also save your life from getting e-challans.
