Latest petrol price in Pakistan from August 16, 2025

The federal government has announced a new adjustment in fuel prices; the price of petrol will stay constant, while the prices of diesel, kerosene oil, and light diesel oil will be reduced for the next two weeks. 

Notably, the new prices will be effective from Saturday and were determined following a recommendation.

From the Ministry of Finance notification, the petrol price remains constant at Rs264.61 per litre, which will be good news for drivers needing petrol for transportation in private cars, motorcycles and rickshaws. 

The largest drop was in high-speed diesel, with a reduction of Rs12.84 per litre, from Rs285.83 to Rs272.99.

High-speed diesel is an important fuel for heavy transport vehicles, buses and trains and is also used for most agriculture machinery like tractors and tube well pumps. 

A drop in the high-speed diesel price is important because it is a significant element in transportation which directly affects transport costs and correspondingly affects the prices of food items and vegetables.

The price of superior kerosene oil was reduced by Rs7.19 from Rs185.46 per litre to now Rs178.27 per litre. And the price of light diesel oil was reduced by Rs8.20 and is now priced at Rs162.37 per litre.
