Marvel fans have something big to look forward to next year: Marvel’s Wolverine is finally coming, ending years of silence from developer Insomniac Games.

The highly anticipated PS5 exclusive was the grand finale at Sony’s State of Play, and its full-length trailer has given players plenty to talk about.

Marvel’s Wolverine trailer

The trailer depicts Logan in his true savage form, slashing, punching, and dispatching enemies at a rapid pace of brutal combat. This game will follow the path of Insomniac’s popular Marvel’s Spider-Man series but will have a darker and more violent tone.

Unlike Spider-Man’s family-friendly nature, Marvel’s Wolverine embraces Logan’s savage and violent ways and just how terrifying his Adamantium claws can be when let loose.

Beyond combat, the trailer also shows Logan in an emotional state. Fans will see a complex side of Wolverine, as the game takes him around the globe in locations such as the icy tundras of Canada, the dark alleyways of Tokyo, and the mysterious island of Madripoor.

Insomniac is emphasising more than just brutal action and is also focusing on a story that embodies Logan’s demons, isolation, and personal troubles.

Fans are also interested in seeing Liam McIntyre assume the voice of Logan, after Hugh Jackman’s 20-year iconic portrayal of the character. While there is no exact date yet, the release estimate of 2026 is enough to keep PS5 players excited.
