Mercedes-Benz is set to make a major step in India with its flagship electric SUV based on the iconic G-Class segment (G 580). The Mercedes-Benz SUV is scheduled for launch on January 9, 2025, promoting sustainability, power, and opulence, showcasing the company’s commitment to the future of mobility.

Mercedes-Benz will launch the Completely-Built Unit (CBU) version of the G-Class electric SUV in India, putting it in the imported vehicle lineup.

The G-Class electric SUV is claimed to deliver exceptional performance, ensuring that power matches its iconic style. Key performance highlights include:

Quad-motor AWD drivetrain: Four electric motors, one for each wheel, allow precise power distribution.

Power output: A staggering 579 bhp and 1,164 Nm of torque.

Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in less than 5 seconds, providing lightning-quick performance.

Top speed: Electronically controlled at 180 km/h.

Battery capacity: A powerful 116 kWh underfloor battery pack.

Range: Up to 473 km on a single charge.

These standalone features positions the G-Class electric SUV as the most strong contender in the electric vehicles market. 

Mercedes-Benz electric SUV price

The G-Class electric SUV will launch in the Indian market with an expected price of approximately INR 3 crore (Rs98,400,570), positioning it as one of the most expensive electric SUVs in India.

Previously the G-Class electric SUV was launched in Europe with prices starting at €142,621.

Mercedes-Benz’s aims to bring the G-Class electric SUV to India spotlights its focus on luxury electric mobility while setting new benchmarks in performance and sustainability.
