In a revolutionary update to its Xbox PC app, Microsoft has revealed a unified gaming library that lets users access games from several platforms, such as Battle.net and Steam, in one place.

Xbox Insiders can now view and launch games from multiple shopfronts within the Xbox app thanks to this creative feature, which streamlines gaming and eliminates the need for multiple launchers.

Xbox's latest update

The Xbox Product Manager Manisha Oza stated that "it will be easier than ever to get back into your games when a player installs a game from a supported PC shopfront because it will appear automatically in 'My library' within the Xbox PC app and the 'Most recent' list of titles in the sidebar."

Additionally, Microsoft intends to add more PC shopfronts to its support in the future.

Users can join the PC gaming preview and download the Xbox Insider Hub on their PC to test out this new feature.

By hiding particular PC shopfronts in the Library & Extensions section of the Xbox app settings, users can further personalise their library.

Later this year, Microsoft intends to add this functionality to the Xbox app, making it compatible with new gadgets like the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds.

The goal of this development is to make the Xbox app for Windows the leading PC gaming destination.

Microsoft’s unified gaming library could significantly simplify the PC gaming experience by consolidating games from various platforms into one interface.
