In a major step to support Pakistan's digital economy, the Ministry of IT and Telecom and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) recently organised the historic event Building Tomorrow.
The occasion served as the launchpad for Prime Minister's SkillTech Pakistan, a platform devoted to capacity building and the development of digital skills. The initiative seeks to equip young Pakistanis with internationally recognised expertise in technology domains such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.
According to Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the programme will launch six flagship initiatives to help tech companies achieve international compliance and give young people skills that will make them competitive in the global economy.
She highlighted that more than 3 million Pakistanis have received training through DigiSkills, resulting in record IT exports of $691 million between July and August 2025, and commended Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif's vision of creating a Digital Nation Pakistan.

The programme's objective is to make young people employable, competitive, and self-assured worldwide, according to PSEB CEO Abu Bakr.
In three years, the programme hopes to train more than 2.1 million Pakistanis, establishing Pakistan as a regional centre for digital technology.
Initiatives like Certified to Export (C2X), which assists IT companies in obtaining international certifications, and Skill Bridge, which links ICT graduates with employers through paid internships, are examples of SkillTech Pakistan.
Advanced instruction in AI, cloud computing, web development, and other areas will be offered at Skilllift 1.0 bootcamps.
"We have ambitious plans and aim to train more than 2.1 million Pakistanis within the next three years," Bakr continued.
Pakistan is making great strides towards becoming a major force in the global digital economy with these initiatives.
